Level 5 Mountain Bike Camp *prior approval required*
This is the camp where older kids hone strong mountain biking skills, stamina, and technique in order to graduate onto a mountain bike team, maybe try racing, and otherwise explore more fun riding on a bicycle- no matter how it looks.
This year, we have decided to not run a Level 6 camp. Instead, we will offer a Level 5/6 camp the week of July 17th through the 21rst. Depending on ability, campers will be broken up into two groups and those who are ready and want to, will ride Level 6 trails (longer days) during the week. Any questions regarding this change can be directed to Head Coach, Kip Biese at email@example.com.
The format of this week of camp is based on the ability of older kids to ride all day at various locations throughout Colorado Springs. Riding time is extended, technical riding skills are practiced throughout a ride, coaches help kids to identify various line choices, and learn how to handle bikes with more control. Kids also learn more trail-side bicycle maintenance- particularly fixing a bike on the trail.
The schedule for the week may change, but is expected to be the following:
- Monday – Palmer Park
- Tuesday – TBD, Possibly Ute Valley, Monument, or meeting by Goose Gossage then riding to Austin Bluffs/Pulpit Rock
- Wednesday – Ute Valley Park
- Cheyenne Canyon
- Red Rock Canyon, possibly meeting at the Pedal Station
Contact our Camp Manager, Aspen Saren at firstname.lastname@example.org or Head Coach, Kip Biese at email@example.com for questions about eligibility.
