Girls Level 2/3 Mountain Bike Camp

We have two divisions of girls mountain biking camps. This camp is the 2nd level for girls with intermediate to advanced mountain biking skills, similar to our general Level 2/3 camp. Our girls camps are led by strong and talented women role models who teach mountain biking skills, develop character, and otherwise develop skills that empower girls to embrace a life of bike riding and becoming ambassadors of the sport.

Level 2

This level becomes the difference between a ‘beginner’ and an ‘intermediate’ mountain biker. Though age is not the determining factor, kids are usually at least 7 years old and have been riding a bicycle confidently for a couple years. With level 2 comes more substantial mountain biking with drills specific to handling a bicycle on singletrack. Capacity for riding grows to longer consecutive riding stretches, maintaining energy and enthusiasm for riding, and the ability to show multiple riding skills naturally.

Level 3

After initial mountain biking skills (braking, shifting gears, solid balance, etc.) are taught, practiced, and implemented on trails, coaches begin to build on a rider’s confidence. This level tends to be for the older kid (age varies) with the capacity to ride for up to an hour on single track and still have enthusiasm to keep riding later on. At this level the speed of riding increases both uphill and downhill. Switchbacks both uphill and downhill are introduced, and technical riding (rocks, roots, etc) becomes both exciting for the kid as well as doable with the honing of skills and practice.

Mileage ridden per day will be between 8-12 miles.
