Explorers Bike Camp

These kids are riding on two wheels, but are overall new to bicycling and are still young (between ages 4 up to 7). This is a half day camp with lots of skill development games and fun rides/games to get these kids more confidence and focus on important fundamentals like braking with control. The goal is to focus on having fun and being safe. At this camp we usually see a single speed bike with coaster brakes and 12-20” wheels. Depending on the location, there will be a mix of paved path riding, wider gravel paths, and green rated singletrack. Camps at North Monument Valley Park usually include one or two visits to the Goose Gossage pump track, too. El Pomar Youth Bike Park will be the most mountain bike focused of the locations.

Deciding between Explorers and Level 1/2 is one of more common questions for kids that are 6-7 years old.  The main difference between the camps is the length of the day and amount of mileage that will be covered throughout the week.  Explorers might cover ~3-5 miles in a given camp day, while Level 1/2 will be closer to 5-8.

If you’re prefered camp/week is sold out, you can continue with the registration process as normal to be added to the waitlist. At the end, it will show you the total cost of camp, but will not charge your card.Should a spot open up, we will reach out to make sure the week still works and then get you enrolled!
